Awesome read. A modern successor to this book would probably have a lot more to say about FPGA-based implementation, and would probably address placement and routing issues that De Micheli had no need to address.Despite its 1994 copyright date, this book is still current and relevant. And an entertaining one, too. Made life, as for learning the beginning stages, a lot easier. FPGAs are mentioned only briefly - understandable, since they had not acquired the importance given them by the decade-plus of technology shifts since the book was written. It is mentioned that Doug and his family attend church. Unfortunately I have been disappointed with Radclyffe's last two books. This is a complete and comprehensive handbook which shall be used by all involved in the planning and design of chemical, biochemical, and other laboratories. Don't get me wrong - I remain a Rad fan and will continue to purchase her books. It all makes me wonder what other mistakes there may be.. It is an excellent tool for architects, engineers and project managers, as well as for those who commission, operate and manage laboratories at every level from schools to industry..
